Review Of The Status Of Tourism2025

Review Of The Status Of Tourism2025

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced in its latest report that the Middle East travel and tourism sector will create 400,000 new jobs by 2025.

As a result, the total employment in this sector will reach 7.7 million jobs. This figure represents a growth of 5.2% compared to 7.3 million jobs in 2024 and a growth of 16.8% compared to 2019, before the Corona pandemic. These statistics were published in the World Travel and Tourism Council report.

“The Middle East is becoming one of the most successful regions in the world in terms of tourism,” said the Chief Executive Officer of the World Travel and Tourism Council. According to him, the region is progressing rapidly. According to the council’s forecast, the travel and tourism industry will contribute $367 billion to the Middle East economy this year, which is equivalent to 10.4% of the region’s gross domestic product (GDP). Comparing this figure with 2024, this figure shows a growth of 7.4%.

According to data from the World Travel and Tourism Council, international tourist spending in the Middle East will reach $194 billion in 2025, an increase of 12.6% compared to the previous year.

Iran’s low share of tourism revenue

What is the situation of Iran as one of the countries located in the Middle East? Published statistics on the significant decrease in domestic tourism, along with the reluctance of foreign tourists to travel to Iran, show that our country has not been able to take advantage of its immense potential in this field. Tourism industry activists and officials believe that the way to revive this industry is through resolving international tensions. By resolving tensions between Iran and other countries and reaching an agreement, investors’ willingness to enter the Iranian market will increase. This will not only increase the quality of services but also create a competitive environment, reducing prices for tourists, which will encourage domestic and foreign tourists to travel to different regions.

In this regard, they consider the conclusion of the negotiations to be a factor in the prosperity of tourism. In addition, with the conclusion of the negotiations, it can be hoped that the exchange of tourists between domestic and foreign agencies will increase and the income from tourism will also increase. The entry of foreign investors into the Iranian tourism market was another issue that Shojaei mentioned, and in this context, he referred to the exchanges that have taken place after the JCPOA. He added: The tourism industry is a youth-friendly industry. In the sense that its main employees are young people.

We are also witnessing the active presence of women in this industry, so with the development of tourism, the employment rate of women and youth will also increase.
